According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Browns are 1.5-point home favorites over the Bengals while the over/under total is currently sitting at 44 points. This game opened as a pick’em and stayed as a pick’em until Cleveland coach Mike Pettine named Manziel the starter. Oddsmakers adjusted by making the Browns a 1-point favorite and the line has been on the move since.
The Bengals have struggled in previous meetings with the Browns, which includes an ugly loss at home in a Thursday night matchup earlier this year. That loss dropped Cincinnati’s ATS record to 1-4-1 in its last six meetings with Cleveland and the Bengals are 1-4 against the number in their last five road games versus the Browns.
The home team, meanwhile, is 3-1-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams while the Browns are a perfect 5-0 against the number in their last five home games versus a team with a winning road record. They’re also 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games after accumulating less than 250 total yards in their previous game.
