MINNESOTA, MN (The Spread) – The Saints look to move closer to securing at least one home playoff game if they can beat the Vikings in Minnesota on Sunday.

NEW ORLEANS: The Saints clinched a playoff berth last Sunday when they held on to a 22-17 win over the Titans. Rookie Jake Locker nearly pulled off the upset when he had Tennessee knocking on the door of a potential scoring in the closing seconds, but the New Orleans defense sacked him as time expired. The win raised the Saints’ season record to 10-3 and their ATS record to 9-4. They’ve now won five in a row as Drew Brees has thrown for 4,368 yards and tight end Jimmy Graham has eight touchdowns and 1,101 receiving yards.

MINNESOTA: Joe Webb nearly pulled off an improbable come-from-behind victory last Sunday in Detroit when he replaced ineffective Christian Ponder in Detroit. But Webb eventually fumbled on the goal line as time expired, giving the Lions a 34-28 win. The loss dropped Minnesota’s record to 2-11 on the yea, although the Vikings did cover as a 10-point underdog.

ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed Saints as a 6.5-point favorite over the Vikings, while the over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 50.5 points. New Orleans enters the game with a 10-3 overall record and is 4-3 on the road, while Minnesota is 2-11 overall and 1-5 at home.

TRENDS: The over is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings between these two teams in Minnesota and 5-1 in the last six meetings overall.
