NFL Week 17 Odds
The final week of the 2009 NFL Season is here, but there are still plenty of games with playoff implications on the line. Let’s take a look at the opening odds.
The Cincinnati Bengals clinched the AFC North last week, so one would think that they would rest their starters since they don’t have a bye in the playoffs. But the New York Jets have everything on the line this week because if they win, they’ll claim one of the Wild Card spots in the AFC.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made the Jets 8-point opening favorites over the Bengals in Week 17. The over/under total for Sunday’s game has been set at 36.5 points.
The New England Patriots are heading back to the playoffs after a one-year layoff and just like the Bengals, they’ll be underdogs this week because they’ll likely play their backups. New England is a 7-point underdog against the Houston Texans this Sunday, while the over/under total for this game has been set at 45.5.
The Denver Broncos are 12-point favorites against AFC West rivals the Kansas City Chiefs, while the Baltimore Ravens are 10-point road favs against the Oakland Raiders this Sunday. Both the Broncos and Ravens hope to keep their playoff hopes alive win wins.
