Bet 2009 NFL Draft Player Prop Odds
Below is a complete list of the 2009 NFL Draft head to head player prop odds, established by oddsmakers at online sports book Sportsbook.com. We discuss the matchups and hand out a free pick for all of the prop wagers.
2009 NFL Draft – Which Player Will Get Drafted 1st
Knowshon Moreno (Georgia) +150
Chris Wells (Ohio State) –200
No knock against Moreno, but with a terrific blend of power and speed, Wells is definitely the best running back prospect in this draft. He’ll likely go somewhere in the top 20 and should go ahead of Moreno.
TheSpread.com Free Pick: Wells –200
2009 NFL Draft – Which Player Will Get Drafted 1st
Michael Crabtree (Texas Tech) -350
Jeremy Maclin (Missouri) +225
There’s little doubt that Crabtree will get out of the top 10 and while some consider Maclin a top 10 prospect himself, he won’t go ahead of Crabtree.
TheSpread.com Free Pick: Crabree -350
2009 NFL Draft – Which Player Will Get Drafted 1st
Percy Harvin (Florida) -150
Hakeem Nicks (North Carolina) +110
Teams love Harvin’s potential – they’re just not sold on his character. A couple teams (i.e. the Vikings and Dolphins) in the back half of the first round apparently love Harvin, but we think he’ll slip because of his baggage. Nicks is a prime candidate to come off the board to the Giants in the first round.
TheSpread.com Free Pick: Nicks +110
2009 NFL Draft – Which Player Will Get Drafted 1st
Brian Orakpo (Texas) even
BJ Raji (Boston College) –140
If you would have asked them a couple weeks ago, most draft pundits would have said Orakpo would definitely win this battle. But Raji is the best defensive tackle in the draft and some scouts are afraid Orakpo doesn’t have a true position at the next level. While Orakpo is a nice value pick at even, we’d recommend taking Raji.
TheSpread.com Free Pick: Raji -140
2009 NFL Draft – Which Player Will Get Drafted 1st
James Laurinaitis (Ohio State) +175
Clay Matthews (USC) –250
Matthews is definitely the better linebacker prospect, but we have a hunch that Laurinaitis will come off the board first because some teams are scared that Matthews could be more of a “workout warrior” instead of a true football player.
TheSpread.com Free Pick: Laurinaitis +175
2009 NFL Draft – Which Player Will Get Drafted 1st
Brian Cushing (USC) -160
Rey Maualuga (USC) +120
Cushing is a major possibility to go to the Saints at No. 14 and is one of the best outside linebacker prospects behind Wake Forest’s Aaron Curry. But there is a ton of value in Maualuga, who might be the best ‘backer prospect, period. He’s only projected to be a two-down linebacker at the next level, but take the value in this bet and hope Cushing slips. Because Maualuga won’t get out of the top 20.
TheSpread.com Free Pick: Maualuga +120
2009 NFL Draft – Which Player Will Get Drafted 1st
Javon Ringer (Michigan State) -160
Glen Coffee (Alabama) +120
Ringer had an outstanding career at MSU and was a Heisman candidate last year. He’s got more speed than Coffee, which makes him a more attractive prospect in the later rounds.
TheSpread.com Free Pick: Ringer -160
2009 NFL Draft – Which Player Will Get Drafted 1st
Alex Mack (California) -105
Eric Wood (Louisville) –135
This is a tremendous value – Mack is so good that he’s being considered as a possible first round pick by some teams. There’s a great chance he’ll be taken ahead of Wood, who has worse odds.
TheSpread.com Free Pick: Mack -105
2009 NFL Draft – Which Player Will Get Drafted 1st
Aaron Maybin (Penn State) -105
Robert Ayers (Tennessee) –135
A couple of weeks ago it looked like Maybin wouldn’t get out of the top 15. But Ayers can play end in a 3-4 defensive scheme and with more teams switching to that front, he’s the more attractive prospect. Maybin is likely to slip past the top 15.
TheSpread.com Free Pick: Ayers -135
2009 NFL Draft – Which Player Will Get Drafted 1st
Kenny Britt (Rutgers) +150
Brandon Pettigrew (Oklahoma State) –200
The Eagles remain a great possibility for Pettigrew at No. 21, but it’s doubtful that either of these prospects will get out of the first round. If Philly doesn’t take Pettigrew (they could take Knowshon Moreno), then he’ll probably slip to Buffalo’s second first rounder and therefore Britt has a chance to go ahead of him. But we’ll stick with Pettigrew going to the Eagles.
TheSpread.com Free Pick: Pettigrew -200
