Cowboys vs. Eagles Prediction
Are the Dallas Cowboys a safe bet to beat the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday when the NFC East rivals square off at 1:00 p.m. ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Dallas. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cowboys are 3-point road favorites to beat the Eagles, who opened as 1-point favorites before the line moved. As for the total, the number hit the board at 43 but has been bet down to 40.
Who the Public Likes: As of Sunday morning, 65% of the betting tickets are on the Cowboys and 77% of the money is also on Dallas to cover the spread.
Who the Trends Like: Dallas. The favorite is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams and the road team is 9-3 against the number in the last 12 meetings. The Cowboys have also covered the number in four of their last five trips to Philadelphia while the under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings in Philly.
Who We Like: Dallas. The Eagles may keep their starters in for a quarter or two but eventually Doug Pederson has to worry about keeping guys healthy. Philadelphia clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC on Monday night so the Eagles have nothing to play for. If third-stringer Nate Sudfeld plays most of the second half then Philly’s offense will grind to a halt. Besides, it’s not like the Eagles’ offense was firing on all cylinders Monday night with Foles under center. With Ezekiel Elliott back and the Cowboys having an opportunity to win nine games to finish their season, I’ll roll the dice on Dallas.
