Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Colts are 3.5-point favorites to beat the Titans. The total, meanwhile, sits at 43.5 points. As of this writing, 54% of the public betting tickets are on the Colts to cover the point spread.
Indianapolis Colts
Eric Ebron (concussion, knee) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He was listed as a DNP for Wednesday’s session. Ebron hasn’t officially cleared the concussion protocol, though he seems to be trending in the right direction. He’ll be needed for Sunday’s must-win game against the Titans. Only Antonio Brown (15) and Davante Adams (13) have delivered more touchdown catches than Ebron (12) this year.
Tennessee Titans
Speaking after Marcus Mariota’s Thursday return to practice, coach Mike Vrabel said his quarterback was making good progress. The Nashville Tennessean reports Mariota had “no tape on his hand” was in “no noticeable discomfort.” Vrabel said he was ready to move on to “next phase of the game plan.” Barring a setback, Mariota will be out there for Sunday night’s must-win game against the Colts.
NFL Betting Trends
Indianapolis
The under is 5-0 in the Colts’ last five games after accumulating more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
Tennessee
The over is 5-1 in the Titans’ last six games after allowing more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game.
Prediction
The over is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams when the game is played in Nashville. Andrew Luck is second in the league in passing touchdowns with 36 and sixth in yards and despite T.Y. Hilton and Eric Ebron playing through injuries, the Colts have moved the ball plenty this season. The Titans lack explosiveness but they have rediscovered their running game thanks to Derrick Henry, who has been a beast the past three games. This matchup sets up like a defensive struggle but both teams are familiar with each other and the two teams combined for 48 points in their first meeting this season (granted, the Colts did most of the lifting with 38 points). This game has sneaky over potential.
