Falcons vs. Ravens Spread Prediction
The Baltimore Ravens have won both of Lamar Jackson’s NFL starts but Sunday will mark the first time he has to play on the road. Will Jackson lead the Ravens to an upset win over the reeling Atlanta Falcons today at 1:00 p.m. ET?
Game Snapshot
357 Baltimore Ravens at 358 Atlanta Falcons
1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, December 2
Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Falcons are 2.5-point favorites to beat the Ravens. The total, meanwhile, sits at 48.5 points. As of this writing, 60% of the public betting tickets are on the Falcons to cover the point spread.
Baltimore Ravens
Ravens placed RB Alex Collins (foot) on injured reserve, ending his season. After bursting onto the scene with a breakout 212/973/6 in 12 starts for the Ravens last season, Collins’ injury-riddled follow-up campaign tragically ends with 114/411/7 over 10 starts. Unlike last season, Collins stayed stuck in a weekly timeshare and never separated himself. He’ll be a restricted free agent this offseason. The Ravens activated Kenneth Dixon in a corresponding move.
Atlanta Falcons
Falcons MLB Deion Jones (foot) is a “full go” for Week 13 against the Ravens. Coach Dan Quinn said Jones “won’t be on a specialized snap count” at home Sunday. It’s been a few weeks coming for Atlanta’s premier man up the middle, as he was close to playing the past two games against the Cowboys and Saints. Even if less than 100%, Jones’ presence alone helps shore up the Falcons’ leaky coverage issues against opposing running backs and tight ends. Note that this game initially opened with the Ravens as road favorites (-2), but has since swung 3.5 points in favor of the Falcons (-1.5).
NFL Betting Trends
Baltimore
The Ravens are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall.
Atlanta
The Falcons are 1-4 against the number in their last five home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Prediction
Getting Jones back at middle linebacker will help an Atlanta defense that has struggled mightily in his absence but this will also be his first game action since Week 1 of the season. When healthy, the Falcons have the defensive speed to hang with anyone but they haven’t been healthy since the start of the season and they have zero pass rush. On the other side, Atlanta is reshuffling some pieces along its offensive line because it can’t protect Matt Ryan. Over the past three weeks, the Falcons have allowed 3.7 sacks per game and they will have a difficult time keeping the Ravens’ pass rushers off Ryan today. I like the Ravens in a small upset.
NFL Week 13 Prediction: Baltimore Ravens +2.5
