Eagles vs. Seahawks Total Pick
Will Sunday night’s matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks turn into a shootout when the NFC rivals face off at 8:30 p.m. ET?
Game Info
Matchup: Eagles (10-1) at Seahawks (7-4)
TV: NBC, 8:30 p.m. ET
Line: Seahawks +5 (47)
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the over/under currently sits at 47 points after hitting the board at 48. The Seahawks, meanwhile, opened as a 6-point home underdogs but the line has moved down a full point to 5 at most sportsbooks.
PUBLIC BETTING: As of this writing, the Eagles are receiving 57% of the betting tickets.
INJURY REPORT: Center Jason Kelce is probable with a knee injury for the Eagles, but Jason Peters (knee), Jordan Hicks (Achilles) and Darren Sproles (knee) are all out for the year.
For the Seahawks, Bobby Wagner (hamstring), Earl Thomas (hamstring), Jimmy Graham (ankle) and Duane Brown (ankle) are all questionable. Kam Chancellor (neck) and Richard Sherman (Achilles) are both out for the year.
OUR PREDICTION: The Eagles have the No. 1 scoring offense in the league, averaging 31.9 points per game. Granted, they haven’t been tested much, but this isn’t the same Seahawks defense that we have grown accustomed to. With Sherman, Chancellor and Cliff Avril all out, plus Wagner and Thomas both banged-up, Carson Wentz and Co. shouldn’t have much issue moving the ball against Pete Carroll’s defense.
Conversely, the Eagles have been outstanding defensively, allowing just 17.4 points per game. But they’ve faced Mitchell Trubisky, a Dallas offense without Ezekiel Elliott, Brock Osweiler and C.J. Beathard the past four weeks. Russell Wilson has moved the ball against nearly every defense he’s faced so I feel good about taking the over in this primetime matchup.
