Falcons vs. Bucs Week 12 Odds
TAMPA, FL (The Spread) – In what figures to be a great game, NFC South rivals the Falcons and Bucs will clash at 1:00PM ET on Sunday in Tampa.
ATLANTA: The Falcons narrowly escaped losing to the lowly Cardinals last Sunday with a 23-19 victory. Matt Ryan completed 28-of-46 passes for 301 yards but he also threw five interceptions, which included three in the first quarter alone. Roddy White caught a team-high 8 passes for 123 yards while Julio Jones added three catches for 33 yards but left the game early due to an ankle injury. The win improved Atlanta’s record to 9-1 but the Falcons failed to cover as a 9.5-point favorite so they’re now 6-4 against the spread this season. With a playoff spot all but locked up, the Falcons need to keep winning in order to secure the top seed in the NFC.
TAMPA BAY: The Bucs just keep on winning. Their 27-21 come-from-behind victory last Sunday in Carolina marked their fourth-straight win and their fifth victory in their last six games. Josh Freeman completed 25-of-46 passes for 248 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions, while rookie Doug Martin rushed 24 times for 138 yards and Vincent Jackson added six catches for 94 yards and a score. While trailing by 11 midway through the fourth quarter, the Freeman hit Jackson on a beautiful 24-yard pass completion to get within two points. Jackson then caught the 2-point conversion from Freeman and Dallas Clark caught a 15-yard touchdown pass in overtime to win it. Tampa Bay is now 6-4 on the year and after covering the 1-point spread, the Bucs are now 8-2 against the number and have covered in four straight games.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Falcons are 1-point favorites over the Bucs, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 48.5 points. Atlanta is 9-1 on the year and 4-1 on the road, while Tampa Bay is 6-4 overall and 3-2 at home.
TRENDS: The favorite is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams while the Falcons are 3-7 against the number in their last 10 games versus the Bucs. The road team is also 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings.
