Browns vs. Ravens Prediction

NFL Week 10 Predictions: Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens 11/6/16

Did oddsmakers set the point spread too high in tonight's Thursday night matchup between the Browns and Ravens at 8:25PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Ravens are now 8-point home favorites versus the Browns after opening as 10.5-point favorites earlier this week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 45.5 and has been bet down a half-point to 45 at most online and Vegas sports books.

BROWNS KEY TRENDS: The Browns have now failed to cover the spread in five of their last six games after they were trounced at home by the Cowboys last Sunday. They've also been a horrible bet inside the division, failing to cover in all seven of their last seven games against AFC North rivals. They're 2-8 at the betting window in their last 10 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game as well.

RAVENS KEY TRENDS: The Ravens haven't exactly been a great back for bettors either, despite beating the Steelers outright as a 3.5-point home underdog in Week 9. Baltimore is just 1-5 against the spread in its last six games overall, is 3-11-1 against the number in its last 15 home games, and is 3-10-1 at the betting window in its last 14 games against opponents with losing records. The saving grace? The Ravens are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games versus AFC North opponents.

OUR PREDICTION: The Browns have actually owned this series at the betting window, covering in five of their last six games in Baltimore. The underdog and road team have also had a lot of success for bettors, with the dog going 4-1-1 at the betting window in the last six meetings between these two teams and the road team hitting at a 12-3-1 ATS clip over the last 16 meetings. The Ravens showed again last week how good their defense is but their offense remains over reliant on Joe Flacco and pedestrian overall. There's a reason why the number has already dropped significantly this week - this is going to be a closer game than oddsmakers originally believed.
