The Odds

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Panthers are 2.5-point home underdogs versus the Packers while the total currently sits at 46.5 points.

The Records

Green Bay enters play with a 6-1 record and is 5-2 against the spread after failing to cover as a 2.5-point road favorite last Sunday night in Denver. Carolina, meanwhile, is a perfect 7-0 straight up and is now 5-2 at the betting window after failing to cover as a 5-point home favorite on Monday night versus Indianapolis.

The Pick

Good teams bounce back from losses and while there's some concern over whether or not Aaron Rodgers has the same quality of weapons this season as he's had in years past, the Packers remain a superior team. That's not to say the Panthers aren't on the same level, as they've proved week after week they're among the elite in the NFL this season. But cracks started to emerge in the foundation on Monday night versus the Colts. The Panthers couldn't put Andrew Luck and Co. away despite Indianapolis playing horrendous football (at least offensively) through three quarters. Cam Newton continues to struggle with overthrows and with this being a short week having played on Monday night, Carolina's defense is due for a dud performance. Why not this week against Rodgers, who is likely seething after a 77-yard performance last Sunday in Denver?
