Falcons vs. Redskins Total Prediction
At 5-2, the Washington Redskins own sole possession of first place in the NFC East. They’ll look to add to their win total on Sunday when they get a test from an Atlanta Falcons team fresh off its bye. Will the over cash for bettors?

Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Redskins are 1.5-point favorites to beat the Falcons. The total, meanwhile, sits at 48 points. As of this writing, 53% of the public betting tickets are on the Falcons to cover the point spread.
Atlanta Falcons
Mohamed Sanu (hip) was downgraded to “DNP” on Thursday. It’s a mild concern but likely some form of rep management from the Falcons. Sanu barely practiced last week before suiting up against the Giants. Sanu will be a fringe WR4 if he gives it a go against the Redskins.
Washington Redskins
Redskins LT Trent Williams (thumb) went to Pittsburgh to see a specialist on Thursday. Williams is dealing with a dislocated thumb. The assumption was that he’d play through it, though it’s never an encouraging sign when a player has to visit a specialist. Ty Nsekhe is Williams’ backup at left tackle.
NFL Betting Trends
Atlanta
The under is 10-2 in the Falcons’ last 12 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
Washington
The under is 7-1 in the Redskins’ last eight games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
Prediction
The Falcons put forth a decent defensive effort in their last game but that was mainly because the Giants are so inept offensively. The Redskins should move the ball at will against this banged-up Atlanta defense and while the Falcons aren’t as explosive on the road as they are at home, Matt Ryan and Co. should still score plenty to help push the final score over the total. Atlanta simply has too many weapons for even this underrated Washington defense to completely slow down.
