Panthers at Cards Pick

The Arizona Cardinals look to continue their recent hot streak when they host the Carolina Panthers at 4:15PM ET on Sunday.

Bet NFL Week 8

The Panthers were embarrassed at home by the Bills last Sunday, 20-9. Jake Delhomme was awful again, throwing three interceptions despite passing for 325 yards as Carolina failed to cover as a 7-point favorite. DeAngelo Williams rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

The Cardinals surprised many pundits when they knocked off the Giants 24-17 as an 8-point underdog last Sunday night. Kurt Warner threw for 231 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the win, while Beanie Wells rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made the Cardinals 10-point favorites at home against the Panthers this Sunday. The over/under total for this game has been set at 41 points.

For some reason, John Fox and the Panthers have decided to stick with Delhomme at quarterback. Not that they have better options in Matt Moore or A.J. Feeley, but Delhomme has been brutal this season and continues to cost Carolina opportunities to improve.

That’s good news for bettors, because the Cardinals seem to be rolling right now and they’re usually tough to beat at home (save for their Week 1 loss to the 49ers that is). Warner should have no trouble moving the sticks against an inconsistent Carolina defense, although it would be nice if Wells and Tim Hightower could get the ground game going in order for ‘Zona to stay balanced offensively.

Arizona is No. 1 in the league against the run and considering that’s Carolina’s strength offensively, we feel good in recommending the Cardinals. Delhomme is on pace to throw over 30 interceptions this year, so he should give the Cards ample opportunity to put the ball in the end zone with good field position. Look for Warner, Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin to have solid performances.

Our NFL Week 8 Free Pick for this matchup is: ARIZONA CARDINALS -10 and OVER 41.
