Jags drop three straight

The Jacksonville Jaguars are on a three-game losing streak right now following a 20-7 loss to Houston. The Jags are now 3-4 overall, 3-4 against the spread and 4-3 with the under. The Jags have also failed to cover the spread in their last three.

The Jags have really struggled on offense this month, scoring just 28 points in three games. Jacksonville is now averaging just 16.6 points and 368.7 yards per game. The team has been without Leonard Fournette most of the year due to a hamstring injury. The Jags traded for Carlos Hyde last week, so he could see his first action with the team in London. Blake Bortles was benched last week after a poor half. He has thrown for 1,735 yards and nine touchdowns with eight interceptions. Bortles is expected to start this game. Defensively, Jacksonville is giving up just 20.9 points and 317.3 yards per game, though they haven’t been their usual selves in recent weeks either. They have forced just five turnovers on the year.

Eagles drop three of four

The Eagles haven’t found any consistency this year after winning the Super Bowl last season. They are just 3-4 following a 21-17 loss at home to the Panthers last week and they have dropped three of their last four. Philly is 2-5 against the spread and 4-3 with the under. They are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six.

Philly has been respectable on defense, allowing 19.7 points and 373.1 yards per game. Their run defense is allowing just 85.7 per contest. Offensively, Philly has definitely not gotten on track this year. The Eagles are averaging just 22 points and 384 yards per game right now. Carson Wentz has thrown for 1,502 yards and 10 touchdowns with just one interception, but he has been sacked 17 times. Zach Ertz is having a nice year with 57 catches for 618 yards and two scores. Wendell Smallwood is the leading rusher in a crowded backfield with 233 yards.

NFL Betting Trends

Jacksonville

Jacksonville is 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a double-digit loss at home and 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight up loss.

Philadelphia

The Eagles are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games in October, but 0-5 ATS in their last five games on grass.

Prediction:

The Eagles have not gotten manhandled in any of their games this year, so I don’t see the Jacksonville defense really holding them down completely. In Philly’s wins, all three have been by 4 or more. The Eagles have at least shown a consistency to score points, while the Jaguars haven’t. I don’t feel strongly that the Jags offense will magically transform traveling to London, even if Hyde is able to play. I like the Eagles to step up on Sunday and get the win and cover.

NFL Prediction: Philadelphia Eagles -3.5
