Indianapolis Colts
Andrew Luck completed 17-of-23 passes for 156 yards and four touchdowns while adding three rushes for five yards Sunday in the Colts’ Week 7 victory over Buffalo. He wasn’t sacked. Sunday ended Luck’s streak of three straight 300-yard passing games, though he still had a productive week with four touchdowns, a total he’s now reached in three of his last four outings. Two of Luck’s TDs went to T.Y. Hilton, who returned this week following a two-game absence. Luck took it easy with Indy up big in the second half, attempting just eight passes after halftime and ceding the final two drives to backup Jacoby Brissett. The 29-year-old’s only real slip-up came when he let a high snap go through the back of the end zone, resulting in a safety. The former first overall pick will look to stay hot next week when the Colts travel to Oakland for a date with the 1-5 Raiders.
Oakland Raiders
Raiders placed RB Marshawn Lynch (groin/core muscle) on injured reserve. Lynch is officially out of commission until Week 16 at soonest, although he has undoubtedly played his final down in Oakland. The tanking Raiders had no use for Lynch, and will move forward with Doug Martin, Jalen Richard, and DeAndre Washington. Lynch’s tenure in Oakland certainly fell short of his personal hopes, but his on-field performance was quietly excellent. He was the Raiders’ best offensive player from midway through the 2017 season up until his 2018 core muscle injury. We suspect Lynch will retire for good at age 32. He is not under contract for 2019.
