Colts vs. Texans Odds
Will the Houston Texans stay perfect at home when they host the Indianapolis Colts at 8:30PM ET tonight? Here’s what the oddsmakers think.
According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Texans are favored at home tonight. Houston is getting odds of -3 points against the Colts, while the over/under total is listed at 47.5 points. Indianapolis has won six of the last seven against Houston, going 5-1-1 against the spread in those games. These two have hit the under in five of their last eight encounters.
The Colts are coming off a 29-23 win over the Bears at home last week to move to 2-3 on the season. Indy is 0-2 on the road this year and 0-2 against the spread on the road. They have hit the over in 4 of 5 games due to the combo of a strong offense and poor defense. Indy is putting up 27.4 points and 383.6 yards per game on offense, while the defense is giving up 29.6 points and 416.8 yards per contest. Indy is giving up 307.2 yards per game through the air, which ranks 28th in the NFL. Andrew Luck has been able to keep the Colts in games with his arm, throwing for 1,469 yards and 10 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. However, he has been sacked 20 times this season, most of anyone in the league.
The Texans are coming off a 31-13 loss at Minnesota last week to fall to 3-2 on the season. However, both losses came on the road and they are 3-0 at home, going 3-0 against the spread in those wins. They are 3-2 with the under this season as well. Houston has been relying on defense, as the unit is holding opponents to just 20.8 points and 195.6 passing yards per game. They come in with 13 sacks on the year and that is mostly without J.J. Watt, who is out with an injury. The Houston offense is putting up just 16.4 points and 328.4 yards per game.
Brock Osweiler hasn’t been performing as the Texans hoped when they signed him this offseason. He has thrown for just 1,133 yards with six touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing only 58 percent of his passes. He could be without Will Fuller today as well, who has been his top receiver in 2016. Fuller is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. The team has been relying a lot of Lamar Miller, who has rushed for 371 yards on 101 carries, but is without a touchdown.
