According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Chiefs are 7-point home favorites to beat the Redskins, who opened as an 8-point underdog. As for the total, the number hit the board at 49.5 and that's where it currently sits.
Redskins Injury Report
Washington has several players that are considered questionable for tonight's game. The key injury is tight end Jordan Reed, who was limited Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in practice due to rib and sternum injuries. Receiver Jamison Crowder was also limited Friday and Saturday due to a hamstring problem, while linebackers Will Compton (ankle) and Mason Foster (shoulder) are questionable after getting in limited practice time as well. Safety D.J. Swearinger is dealing with a hamstring injury while running back Rob Kelley continues to battle problems with his ribs. The only player officially out for the Redskins is tackle Ty Nsekhe (core).
Chiefs Injury Report
Kansas City has two players listed as out: Linebacker Dee Ford (back) and offensive lineman Mitch Morse (foot). The Chiefs also have two players listed as questionable. Tackle Eric Fisher did not practice Friday or Saturday due to a back injury, while linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis was limited due to a groin injury. Outside of Eric Berry, who is out for the season, the Chiefs are relatively healthy.
OUR PREDICTION: After the Falcons looked like crap on Sunday in a home loss to the underdog Bills, you could make the case that the Chiefs are the best team in football. In fact, Kansas City is the lone unbeaten team at 3-0. Still, I think the Redskins have plenty of value here. The Chiefs are banged-up along their offensive line and this is a lot of points to lay in a primetime game where the underdog is competent. The Redskins have covered in 10 of their last 12 road games and are 12-5 against the number in their last 17 games overall. They've been good to bettors and I expect that good will to continue tonight.
