NFL Week 3, Regular Season

Chicago Bears DFS Spin

Mitchell Trubisky completed 18-of-28 passes for 190 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Bears' 17-13, Week 2 win over the Giants. Trubisky did all of his "damage" in the first half, as he threw the ball just nine times for 31 yards and both of his interceptions after halftime. Trubisky still makes boneheaded plays, but he mixes in an occasional magical one to give the Bears some hope. They're few and far between, however, though the Bears are now 2-0 to open the year. Trubisky's touchdowns were a 28-yard soft flipper to David Montgomery, who did all of the work after the catch, and then a 15-yarder to rookie WR Darnell Mooney. Trubisky gets another plum Week 3 draw against the Falcons' pitiful defense.

Atlanta Falcons DFS Spin

Matt Ryan completed 24-of-36 passes for 273 yards and four touchdowns in the Falcons' 40-39, Week 2 loss to the Cowboys. Ryan and the Falcons came out cooking with gas in this one, jumping out to a 20-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Ryan's touchdowns went to Calvin Ridley (22 yards), Hayden Hurst (42), Ridley again (three), and Russell Gage (eight). This offense looks like it's going to have to put up gobs of points to make up for its Swiss-cheese defense, keeping Ryan as a volume-driven QB1 with elite weaponry. Ryan has 723 yards and six touchdowns after two games. He gets a tougher Week 3 test against the Bears but will remain a back-end QB1.

Bears vs. Falcons Betting Prediction

The Falcons are brutal as a favorite, failing to cover in five of their last seven games when laying points. They’re also just 2-6 against the number in their last eight games played in the month of September, are 7-22 against the spread in their last 29 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game and are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous contest.
