San Francisco 49ers DFS Spin
Jimmy Garoppolo completed 13-of-21 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown in the 49ers’ 27-7, Week 2 win over the Seahawks. Garoppolo entered the game on San Francisco’s second drive after Trey Lance suffered an ankle injury. Lance was unable to return and a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter says he will miss the remainder of the season. Garoppolo tossed a 38-yard touchdown to backup tight end Ross Dwelley, though most of the yardage came after the catch. In the fourth quarter, Garoppolo snuck in a score at the goal line to ice the game. San Francisco played ultra-conservative in this game, though there was never a need for them to air the ball out. In a more competitive game, Garoppolo could be a viable streaming option. That should be the expectation for the 49ers’ Week 3 matchup with Denver.
Denver Broncos DFS Spin
Russell Wilson completed 14-of-31 passes for 219 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Broncos’ 16-9, Week 2 win over the Texans. There are many excuses to make: Nathaniel Hackett’s clock and red-zone management has been atrocious, Jerry Jeudy was ruled out and KJ Hamler was down, and his remaining receivers dropped plenty of passes. But Wilson drifted in the pocket often, took three sacks, and didn’t really have much going beyond Courtland Sutton. The Broncos have now scored 32 points in two games, which we’re told is bad for fantasy value. They draw the 49ers on Sunday Night Football next week; it’ll be hard to support a QB1 case for Wilson without relying on the preseason priors.
