According to our NFL Football Public Betting Chart page, the Falcons are receiving 57% of the betting tickets from online sportsbooks.
Atlanta Falcons Fantasy Spin
Calvin Ridley caught 8-of-10 targets for 105 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Eagles. Ridley burned Ronald Darby deep on his 34-yard touchdown. He was the Falcons leading receiver for most of the night before Julio Jones’s game-winning 54-yard score. Ridley has lived up to his second-year hype, going over 60 yards with touchdowns in the first two weeks. He gets a matchup with the Colts in Week 3.
Indianapolis Colts Fantasy Spin
T.Y. Hilton (quad) is questionable for the Colts’ Week 3 matchup against the Falcons. We tentatively expect Hilton to suit up Sunday considering the Colts have shown little concern over his status this week. He was a limited participant in practice all week. Hilton has posted 8-87-2 and 4-43-1 lines to start the season and carries a solid weekly floor as the Colts’ undisputed No. 1 pass-game option. He remains locked in as a WR2, but the offense’s run-first philosophy undoubtedly lowers his weekly ceiling.
NFL Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Falcons are 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games overall and are 1-5 against the number in their last six road games.
Indianapolis
The Colts are 3-1-1 against the number in their last five games overall and are 5-1 ATS in their last six games played in Week 3.
Prediction
The Colts watched Andrew Luck retire in the offseason, traveled to Carson in Week 1, nearly upset the Chargers as a sizable road dog and then last Sunday narrowly beat a Titans team coming off an impressive win over the Browns the previous week. Meanwhile, the Falcons didn’t show up for their Week 1 matchup with the Vikings and tried like hell to give away a win last Sunday night versus the Eagles. Atlanta is a paper tiger, while Indy has shown some real grit in the early going. I don’t care about the talent the Falcons have on offense: I’ll take the Colts and fade the public.
