NFL Week 1

Seattle Seahawks DFS Spin

Seattle Se Seahawks coach Pete Carroll hinted at using a "hot hand" approach between Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde. Carson handled 19.3 carries per game on 72 percent of Seattle's offensive snaps last year but that workload seems in doubt with the 25-year-old coming off hip surgery. It's still possible Carson becomes the 'hot hand', but that notion still guarantees Hyde is mixed in from the first drive on. With so few healthy bell-cows available for Week 1, Carson settles in as a low-confidence RB2 whereas Hyde isn't the worst RB3 if fantasy players are desperate for touches. Both will likely be afterthoughts in the passing game.

Atlanta Falcons DFS Spin

Falcons WR Julio Jones (hamstring) was limited at Friday's practice but will play in Week 1. Julio's status is "not in doubt" for this week's game against Seattle, as Atlanta beat writer Vaughn McClure said. He'll see coverage primarily from Seahawks CB Quinton Dunbar in a game featuring one of the week's highest Vegas totals (49).

Seahawks vs. Falcons Betting Prediction

The Falcons showed marked improvement in the second half last year, especially on defense after head coach Dan Quinn finally relinquished play-calling duties to assistant head coach Raheem Morris. That said, the Falcons also had a lot of turnover on that side of the ball, which could lead to plenty of confusion at the start of the season. Russell Wilson isn’t the quarterback you want to be facing when your defenders aren’t on the same page. Under Quinn, the Falcons have been known to look strong in the first half, make zero adjustments at half time and then blow the lead in the second half.
