Chiefs vs. Bears Preseason Pick
Will the Chiefs win their first preseason game of 2016 when they visit the Bears today at 1:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bears are 2.5-point home underdogs versus the Chiefs this afternoon while the over/under sits at 40.5. Both the side and total have moved off the original number posted by oddsmakers, with Chicago moving from a 1-point home dog to +2.5 and the total dropping from 41 down to 40.5.
The Chiefs are now 0-2 in exhibition play after falling 21-20 to the Rams last Saturday in Los Angeles. Starter Alex Smith was 9-of-12 passing for 137 yards and a touchdown while Spencer Ware rushed 10 times for 37 yards and a score to lead Kansas City in rushing. Jeremy Maclin also scored once after hauling in three passes for 48 yards in the game.
The Bears are also 0-2 in preseason play, losing 23-22 as a 3-point road dog last week in Foxboro and 22-0 at home to the defending champion Broncos in their first exhibition game. Jay Cutler completed 8-of-12 passes for 83 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the loss to the Patriots, while Jeremy Langford rushed eight times for 55 yards and a touchdown.
OUR PICK: With this being the dress rehearsal for both teams and the Chiefs likely to have the better regular season, they're the team to back today. The Bears have injury issues along their offensive line and don't appear to have developed chemistry yet in new offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains' system. With the Chiefs having already found cohesion long ago with Andy Reid, they should look sharper today than the Bears.
