Vikings 2016 Win Total Pick
After being a surprise winner of the NFC North last season, can the Minnesota Vikings find a way to get to 10 wins this season?
According to the oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Vikings are listed with an over/under of 9.5 wins for the regular season. The over is listed at -150 to win, while the under is at +130 as well. The Giants odds to win the Super Bowl this season is set at 18/1.
Bet on 2016 Minnesota Vikings Odds
Mike Zimmer enters his third season as head coach of the Vikings. He is coming off an 11-5 record last year after going 7-9 in his first season. Despite winning the NFC North last season, the Vikings lost to the Seahawks in the opening round of the playoffs, 10-9.
The Vikings had Adrian Peterson back in the fold last season and he didn’t disappoint, rushing for 1,485 yards and 11 touchdowns. The team was hoping for more from second-year QB Teddy Bridgewater, who threw for just 3,231 yards and 14 touchdowns. The team hoped to add weapons for him by drafting Laquon Treadwell 23rd overall in the NFL Draft. The Vikings have a sound offensive line and a pair of young receivers in Treadwell and Stefon Diggs.

Defensively, Minnesota is a physical team and the Vikings were 13th in the league last season in total defense. The Vikings had 43 sacks as a team, led by 10.5 from Everson Griffin. As a team, Minnesota had 13 interceptions. They hope to add to that by drafting Mackensie Alexander in the second round of the NFL Draft. The Vikings have also made a number of small signings on the front seven in hopes to provide depth for this season.
Minnesota showed a lot last season, grinding out some tough games. They finally were able to unseat the Packers atop the NFC North, but Green Bay should be stronger this year. This year’s schedule isn’t easy, as the Vikings have to travel to Carolina and host Arizona in two games the rest of the division won’t have. If Bridgewater doesn’t take a step forward this season, they aren’t likely to get to 10 wins. I don’t feel confident enough that he can do just that.
