Buffalo Bills Season Win Total Prediction
The Buffalo Bills made the playoffs last season but are in the midst of significant transition, especially at quarterback. Will the team struggle to win at least six games this upcoming season?
Buffalo Bills Season Odds
Oddsmakers have set the Bills’ over/under win total for 2018 at 6. The team is also 100/1 to win the Super Bowl, is 40/1 to win the AFC, and is 10/1 to win the AFC North Division.
Offseason Recap
The Bills made a splash right at the start of free agency by signing former Panthers defensive tackle Star Lotulelei to play alongside Kyle Williams, who was re-signed to a one-year, $6 million contract. The team also added safety Rafael Bush, formerly of the Saints, and defensive end/linebacker Trent Murphy, formerly of the Redskins.
The biggest move, of course, came at the quarterback position, where the Bills signed A.J. McCarron, formerly of the Bengals, to a two-year, $10 million contract. He’s slated to start Week 1 but the team also traded up with the Bucs to select Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2018 draft.
Buffalo wasn’t done trading up in the draft either, as the Bills traded up with the Ravens to select Virginia Tech linebacker Tremaine Edmunds with the No. 16 overall pick.
Season Win Prediction
I really like this defense. That front four of Williams, Lotulelei, Jerry Hughes and Shaq Lawson will give opposing quarterbacks headaches and the secondary got an injection of talent with the offseason addition of Vontae Davis as well.
That said, this offense could really struggle. LeSean McCoy is embroiled in controversy and even if he has a great season, the receiver position has too many questions. McCarron gets his opportunity to prove that he can be a starter but how long before the team is pushing to get Allen under center? After the Bills made the playoffs last season, I see the bottom falling out somewhat this year. I think their ceiling for wins in 2018 is 6 but their floor offers more value for bettors.
