Where will Fowler wind up tonight?
CHICAGO, IL (The Spread) – Will Florida edge rusher Dante Fowler be selected in the top 5 tonight when the 2015 NFL Draft kicks off its coverage at 8:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Fowler’s draft position is currently sitting at over/under 3.5. That means if he’s taken in picks 1-3 his draft position will have fallen “under” the posted total, and if he’s taken with the No. 4 pick or later, his draft position would have went “over” the total.
Fowler is regarding as the best edge rusher in this year’s draft and perhaps the second-best defensive player in his class behind USC’s Leonard Williams. Fowler has been a popular choice at No. 3 to the Jaguars in most mock drafts, while the Raiders, Redskins, Jets, Bears and Falcons have been linked to the Florida pass rusher as well.
Chances are he won’t slip past No. 5 to the Redskins, who could also trade the pick to a team like the Falcons, who are desperate for pass-rush help and could be out of the running for Fowler or Clemson’s Vic Beasley. The smart choice might be to take the under with Fowler’s draft position, seeing as how the Jaguars could go in a variety of different ways at No. 3. Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota should also come off the board at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
