LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -Southern California’s Vincent Joseph was injured running back a kickoff and left Saturday night’s game against Nebraska on a stretcher.
The nature of his injury wasn’t immediately known.
Joseph was hurt when he was hit by Ricky Thenarse on a return after a Nebraska field goal with 9:04 left in the second quarter.
Joseph fumbled on the play and stayed down after teammate Malcolm Smith picked up the ball and returned it 31 yards to the Nebraska 45.
Medical personnel tended to Joseph for more than 10 minutes before he was taken off the field on a stretcher.
