Texas Tech’s Graham Harrell 5th player with multiple 4,000-yard passing seasons

WACO, Texas (AP) – Texas Tech junior Graham Harrell eclipsed the 4,000-yard passing mark for the for the second season in a row Saturday.
Harrell become the fifth quarterback at the NCAA’s highest level, formerly referred to as Division I-A, to have multiple 4,000-yard seasons.
Ty Detmer of BYU and Timmy Chang each had three 4,000-yard seasons, and Byron Leftwich had two at Marshall. Hawaii senior Colt Brennan has already had two 4,000-yard seasons, plus has 2,820 yards through eight games this season for the 12th-ranked Warriors, who were off Saturday.
Harrell hit 4,000 yards on the nose when he completed his first pass for 21 yards against Baylor. He then followed with two more long completions, first for 20 yards and then a 37-yard touchdown, his 36th TD pass this season.
