BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -An official broke his leg and had to be carted off of field after getting caught in a tackle along the sideline during a the LSU-Louisiana Tech game Saturday night.
Line judge Paul Petrisko was upended when LSU speedster Trindon Holliday was banged out of bounds as he tried to turn a run upfield during the second quarter.
The game was delayed more than five minutes while Petrisko was strapped to a stretcher with a stabilizing boot affixed to his lower leg.
Petrisko gave a thumbs-up to the student section as he was wheeled off, drawing cheers from the crowd. LSU officials said the collision fractured Petrisko’s shin.
