ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford hurt his throwing shoulder one play after becoming Oklahoma’s career passing leader.
Bradford was hit by Brigham Young linebacker Coleby Clawson in the closing seconds of the first half Saturday night. Bradford got rid of the pass in time to avoid a sack, then he and Clawson landed flush on his right arm. It was a clean hit.
Bradford writhed in pain, putting his left hand on the shoulder. Trainers rushed to him and brought him to the sideline where he was examined on a table, then taken into the locker room.
The No. 3 Sooners kicked a field goal on the next play to take a 10-7 lead at halftime over the No. 20 Cougars.
Bradford was 10-of-14 for 96 yards and a touchdown.
