HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Three former Penn State administrators are urging a judge to dismiss all or parts of a criminal case that accuses them of covering up sexual abuse complaints and endangering children.
In lengthy filings released Wednesday, former university President Graham Spanier, retired Athletic Director Tim Curley and retired Vice President Gary Schultz argued their right to legal representation was violated.
They say they believed a Penn State lawyer, Cynthia Baldwin, represented them during grand jury appearances in the investigation of retired assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.
Spanier seeks dismissal of the entire case, while Curley and Schultz want the judge to suppress their grand jury testimony and dismiss obstruction and conspiracy counts.
In a separate filing, prosecutors say the defendants' complaints are unjustified and cannot be used as a ''get out of jail free'' card.
