Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins says a trooper stopped Paul’s car for speeding around 2 a.m. Sunday. Collins says Paul failed a field sobriety test and was taken to a detoxification center. The 19-year-old Paul also was cited for driving with a suspended license and possessing alcohol as a minor.
Coach Bo Pelini says he met with Paul and suspended him for the final week of spring practice, including Saturday’s Red-White Game.
Paul began the spring in line for a starting job. He started four games last season and returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown against New Mexico State.
