LSU Tigers Game Notes
Armoni Goodwin (undisclosed) has been officially ruled out for LSU’s Week 1 blockbuster against Florida State, Wilson Alexander of The New Orleans Advocate reports. This comes as little surprise after LSU head coach Brian Kelley announced the tailback would be doubtful at the beginning of the week. Goodwin is deep on LSU’s depth chart, but still managed to score five touchdowns a season ago. Noah Cain, Josh Williams and Logan Diggs should see most of the work in the backfield for the Tigers come Sunday night.
Florida State Seminoles Game Notes
Ja’Khi Douglas will sit out Florida State’s game Sunday against LSU and is expected to miss multiple weeks, Curt Weiler of Rivals.com reports. Douglas suffered an undisclosed injury during Florida State’s preseason, resulting in a delay to his 2023 debut. Though not ruled out for Week 2 when the Seminoles host Southern Missouri, he is looking rather doubtful for when they play USM on Sept. 9.

LSU vs. Florida State Betting Prediction
Give me the under, as I think this number is too high. Jayden Daniels tries too hard at times to make things happen and when he faces a stout defensive line like the one he’ll see tonight in Orlando, he gets caught behind the line at times. I expect Brian Kelly to lean on his ground game tonight, especially against an FSU run defense that had issues down the stretch last season. Same thing for the Seminoles, who will try to run behind one of the better offensive lines in college football. Tonight will be fun, but I don’t see it being the back-and-forth shootout that some do.
