Colorado adds Leavitt to staff
BOULDER, CO (TheSpread) – Colorado made a few additions to its coaching staff on Thursday, naming Jim Leavitt as its defensive coordinator and Joe Tumpkin as its safeties coach.
Leavitt was the former head coach at South Florida and joins Colorado after spending the last four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. Tumpkin comes to the Buffaloes after spending the last five seasons as defensive coordinator at Central Michigan University. The Chippewas currently have a coaching vacancy, leaving Tumpkin’s position there in doubt.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Colorado is currently part of the Field, that has 60/1 odds to win the College Football Playoffs. Ohio State is the favorite with 5/1 odds while TCU has 8/1 odds.

Colorado is coming off a 2-10 season in 2014 with an 0-9 record in the Pac-12. Mike MacIntyre has been with the program for two seasons, going just 6-18 overall and 1-17 in the Pac-12 in those two years. Prior to his run at Colorado, MacIntyre was at San Jose State, where he was 16-21 in three years, but was 10-2 in 2012.
