Nebraska
enters its third year under coach Bo Pelini and the Cornhuskers are on their way out of the Big 12 before entering the Big Ten in 2011.

In 2010,

Nebraska
has nine starters back on offense, but the Cornhuskers were weak on offense last season, averaging just 323 yards per-game.

Leading the offense is All-Big 12 running back Roy Helu, who rushed for 1,147 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. Helu will have his quarterback back as well in Zac Lee, who threw for 2,143 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2009.

Main receiving target, Niles Paul, who caught 40 passes for 796 yards last year, is also back for the Huskers while four of the five offensive line starters also return.

On the tremendous defense,

Nebraska
brings back six starters but losses Ndamukong Suh, who led the Huskers in tackles (85), sacks (12), and tackles for loss (12) at defensive tackle.

Nebraska
does returns All-Big 12 defensive tackle Jared Crick, who had 9.5 sacks and 73 tackles last season, as well as All-Big 12 cornerback Prince Amukamara, who had five interceptions and 11 pass deflections in 2009.

Adding to the team is All-Big 12 kicker Alex Henry, who was 24-for-28 on field goals in 2008 with a long of 52 yards. Henry also handles the punting for

Nebraska
.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL currently list

Nebraska
with 14/1 odds to win the 2011 BCS National Championship. The Cornhuskers are also listed at 2/1 to win the Big 12 and 1/2 to win the Big 12 North Division.

Nebraska
is clearly the class of the Big 12 North, which is the weaker of the two divisions. In terms of national title contention,
Nebraska has a favorable schedule with its biggest tests coming at
Washington, at Oklahoma State, and at home with

Texas
. The Huskers should have an improved offense, but you have to expect a little dip in the defense due to the loss of four of the five leading tacklers from last season. Still,

Nebraska
is poised to have a strong season and if it can win the Big 12 Championship game, it will probably land in the BCS National Championship.
