FSU now turns to Jimbo Fisher to run the show. Fisher has been with the Seminoles for many years and some feel he was the head coach without the title as Bowden got toward the end of his tenure.
Ponder returns his entire starting offensive line, his leading rusher, and two of his three leading receivers from last season. Left guard Rodney Hudson was a First Team All-American last season and left tackle Andrew Datko was third team All-ACC.
Jermaine Thomas rushed for 832 yards and nine scores in the backfield in 09 while Bert Reed caught 60 passes for 710 yards and Jarmon Fortson caught 45 passes for 610 yards and four scores.
On defense, FSU has six starters back, three of which come on the front line. The Seminoles had 26 sacks a year ago and defensive line pressure will be key this season as FSU is replacing three starters in its secondary.

Florida State will certainly be a contender in the ACC which earns it a BCS bid, but a tough non-conference slate featuring a home game with BYU and a road game at Oklahoma make it tough for us to see them contending for a national title. FSU should give teams fits with their offense, but a weak secondary will be an issue in a high-scoring ACC conference.
