Arkansas Season Odds
Football is a game about quarterbacks, and the Arkansas Razorbacks may have the best in the country heading into the 2010 College Football season.

The Razorbacks are led by Ryan Mallett, a former Michigan product that threw for 3,624 yards with 30 touchdowns and just seven interceptions in 2009 for Arkansas. Mallett will lead a Bobby Petrino-led offense that returns 10 starters.
The only new face on the offense comes at right guard, but the Razorbacks have their five leading receivers back from a year ago, led by Greg Childs, who caught 48 passes for 894 yards and seven scores.
Arkansas also brings back leading rusher Broderick Green, but he had just 442 yards and 11 scores on the ground. Arkansas has tried to run more by committee than individuals and five different players had at least 33 carries in 2009. Four of those five are back in 2010.
On defense, Arkansas returns seven starters from a group that allowed over 400 yards of offense per-game.
The strength will be in the secondary where the Razorbacks have three of four starters back. Arkansas had a turnover advantage of +15 in 2009 and with all the experience back, look for them to be a ball-hawking defense.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com currently list Arkansas as 35/1 to win the 2011 BCS National Championship. The Razorbacks are also given 13/2 odds to win the SEC and 7/2 odds to win the SEC West.
Arkansas could be a legitimate contender for the BCS title this year because it will contend in the SEC, which is often given a berth in the national title game. Arkansas has a weak non-conference slate and its two toughest conference games come at home against LSU and Alabama. The Razorbacks will need to find ways to win tough road games at Georgia and Auburn, but with Mallett behind center, Arkansas should be in every game. If you are looking for a dark horse to put some money on, Arkansas may be the right choice for your.
