Saban enters his fourth year with the Crimson Tide after going 14-0 in 2009, thanks in part to the Heisman winner, Mark Ingram, at running back.

Ingram is one of eight starters back on offense this year for

Alabama. He rushed for 1,658 yards and 17 touchdowns while catching 32 passes for 334 yards and three scores last season.

Greg McElroy is back at quarterback and is coming off a 2009 season where he threw for 2,508 yards and 17 scores with just four interceptions. McElroy returns his top three receivers, including Julio Jones and Marquis Maze.

The Tide also return three starters on the offense line that allowed just 20 sacks on the season.

The concern for

Alabama will be on defense, where it returns just two starters from a group that held opponents to 11.7 points and 244 yards per-game in 2009.

Returning to the starting lineup are sophomore linebacker Dont’a Hightower and junior safety Mark Barron. Hightower was a Freshman All-American while Barron was a Third Team All-American in 2009. Barron had 76 tackles with 11 pass deflections and seven interceptions.

A new front seven will have to try and make up for 32 sacks, which the Tide had last season.

Alabama with 4/1 to win the 2011 BCS National Championship. The Crimson Tide are also listed at 1/1 to win the SEC and 2/3 to win the SEC West.

Alabama has difficult road schedule this year with trips to
Arkansas,
South Carolina,

Tennessee, and LSU. Add to that home games with
Florida,
Penn
State, and

Auburn and it will be a tough ride for the Tide to go undefeated. Even in 2009,

Alabama had to catch a few breaks along the way to win the title. You can’t expect

Alabama to get those bounces to go their way this year as repeating as champion is very tough. As the favorites, we suggest staying away from

Alabama with your money.
