CHARLOTTE, NC (TheSpread) – No. 12 Virginia Tech can turn an awful start into a BCS Bowl bid on Saturday when the Hokies look for their 11th-straight win when they play No. 20 Florida State in the ACC Championship.

Virginia Tech is 10-2 on the year and 8-0 in the ACC while Florida State is 9-3 this season and 6-2 in conference play. This game will be played in Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.

Trends show that Florida State is 4-1 against the spread in their last five meetings with Virginia Tech while the over has also hit in four of the last five between these two teams.

Oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com have made Virginia Tech a 3.5-point favorite against the Seminoles on Saturday. The over/under for the game has been set at 51.5. (View Matchup)

Opening odds had Virginia Tech favored by 4.5 points, but the spread dropped down to 3.5 during the week. The over/under total opened at 51 points and was up to 52.5 during the week before closing at 51.5 points.

After starting 0-2 with losses to Boise State and James Madison, Virginia Tech has now won 11 straight games to reach the ACC title game. The Hokies are scoring 34.8 points per game on offense and allowing just 17.9 points per game on defense. As a team, Virginia Tech averages 211.4 rushing yards per game. Tyrod Taylor is leading the way with 2,258 passing yards and 20 touchdowns to go with 613 rushing yards and four scores.

Florida State has won their last three games and got a little help from N.C. State to make the title game. The Seminoles are averaging 31.7 points per game offensively and holding opponents to 17.8 points per game. The Seminoles have a balanced offense led by quarterback Christian Ponder, who has thrown for 2,038 yards and 20 touchdowns on the season.

Virginia Tech cornerbacks Chris Hill and Rashad Carmichael are both probable for Saturday’s game despite ankle Injuries while Florida State running backs Jermaine Thomas and Ty Jones are both questionable with injuries.

A little over 7,200 Public Bets have been placed on the ACC title game and Virginia Tech is getting 63% of the wagers at -3.5 against Florida State.
