Scott has thrown for 2,120 yards and 19 touchdowns this year, but injured his ankle on the final offensive play of last week’s win over Temple. The Bobcats are allowing 21.4 points per-game on defense this year. Ohio also has four special teams touchdowns on the year and has one of the best punt returns units in the nation behind LaVon Brazill, who averages 15 yards per-return and has three touchdowns this season.
The key to this pick is in the health of the Bobcats. Scott is likely to play but is also not likely to be 100 percent. Brazill is also nursing an injury and the Bobcats have injuries on the offensive line. The Chippewas have always been a strong offensive team behind LeFevour, but this year, Central Michigan has added a strong defense. Ohio will likely be unable to run the ball effectively against the Chippewas, which forces Scott to have to match touchdowns with LeFevour. Ohio is likely to get overwhelmed early, as the Chippewas play their sixth game at Ford Field in four years. We suggest a pick of Central Michigan with the over.
