Cowboys fall to Oklahoma
Oklahoma State had won four straight, but the Cowboys lost their season finale to Oklahoma, 34-16. The Cowboys are 8-4 on the season, 8-3-1 against the spread and 7-5 with the under.
Like usual, Oklahoma State is great on offense and suspect on defense this year. The offense is putting up 33.4 points and 463.9 yards per game. Defensively, Oklahoma State is allowing 27.0 points and 418.1 yards per contest. Oklahoma State is led by its running back, Chuba Hubbard, who has rushed for 1,936 yards and 21 touchdowns. Quarterback Spencer Sanders has thrown for 2,065 yards and 16 touchdowns, while rushing for 625 yards and two scores. Sanders is dealing with a thumb injury that has him questionable to play in this game. Leading receiver Tylan Wallace is out with a knee injury. He had 53 catches for 903 yards and eight touchdowns.
Aggies lose last two
Texas A&M dropped its final two games of the regular season, road games against Georgia and LSU. The Aggies are 7-5 on the season, 7-5 against the spread and 7-5 with the under.
The Aggies are putting up 30 points and 398.8 yards per game on offense this year, but the A&M defense is holding opponents to just 22.7 points and 340.8 yards per contest. Quarterback Kellen Mond has thrown for 2,802 yards and 19 touchdowns to lead the offense. He also has rushed for 383 yards and seven scores. Isaiah Spiller has rushed for 869 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the ground attack. Jhamon Ausbon is the leading receiver with 65 catches for 862 yards and four scores.
College Football Betting Trends
Oklahoma State
The Cowboys have hit the under in five straight bowl games and in six of their last seven against SEC opponents.
Texas A&M
The Aggies have hit the over in five of their last six bowl games and in nine of their last 12 non-conference games.
Prediction:
A&M was dominant on defense this year until it met up with LSU and gave up 50 points. Oklahoma State certainly is a good offense, but I think the Aggies will be just fine on defense. The Cowboys could be one dimensional with the injuries to the key players in the pass game. Texas A&M has potential on offense, but I think Oklahoma State will have to step up on defense to be competitive in this game, and will be able to succeed. A&M is physical, but not terribly explosive. I think this game will be somewhat low scoring despite Oklahoma State’s history for getting into shootouts. I think the injuries for the Cowboys will be too hard to overcome.
Texas Bowl Prediction: Oklahoma State/Texas A&M Under 53.5
