Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, Air Force is favored in this game, as the Falcons are getting odds of -3 points against Washington State. The over/under total is listed at 68.5 points. The public betting currently has 51 percent going on Air Force as the favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NCAAF Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Falcons red hot

Air Force won its last seven games of the season, including a 20-6 win over Wyoming in the season finale. The Falcons are 10-2 on the season, 7-5 against the spread and 6-6 with the over/under total.

The Falcons have been solid on both sides of the ball this season. Their offense is putting up 34.3 points and 423.5 yards per game behind a dynamic run game that puts up nearly 300 yards per contest. Defensively, Air Force is allowing just 19.8 points and 315.8 yards per game. Kadin Remsberg is the team’s leading rusher with 872 yards and seven touchdowns while two others have over 730 yards. Donald Hammond III has rushed for 491 yards and 11 touchdowns while throwing for 1,286 yards and 13 scores. Geraud Sanders is the team’s top receiver with 29 catches for 736 yards and seven touchdowns.

Cougars beat up by Washington

Washington State is coming off a 31-13 loss at Washington in its season finale. The Cougars lost all five games away from home this year. They are 6-6 on the season, 4-8 against the spread and 7-5 with the over.

Like usual, Washington State is strong on offense while being a mess on defense. The Cougars are averaging 39.2 points and 516.8 yards per game on offense this year behind the nation’s top passing attack. Defensively, Washington State is giving up 31.4 points and 456.8 yards per contest. Anthony Gordon has lit up opposing secondaries this year for 5,228 passing yards and 45 touchdowns with 16 interceptions. Brandon Arcondao has been his top receiver with 67 catches for 942 yards and six touchdowns. However, he is questionable in this game with a wrist injury. Max Borghi is the team’s leading rusher with 790 yards and 11 touchdowns.

College Football Betting Trends

Air Force

Air Force has hit the over in its last four games at a neutral field and in four of its last five bowl games.

Washington State

The Cougars have hit the over in eight of their last 11 games on grass and in six of their last eight games as an underdog.

Air Force is sure to find success on offense in this game. Their rushing attack should be able to tear through Washington State without much difficulty. While Air Force has great defensive numbers as well, I have to question whether it will hold up against this Washington State pass attack. The Falcons did hold Hawaii to just 26 in Hawaii, and Washington State has had its worst offensive numbers on the road, but I would expect Gordon to have a solid game knowing this is a big showcase for his draft stock. I look for another high-scoring Washington State game and would feel comfortable taking the over.
