Ole Miss vs. Vanderbilt Prediction
Will Vanderbilt cover as a heavy home underdog tonight when it hosts Ole Miss at 8:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Rebels are now 10-point home favorites versus the Commodores after opening as an 8-point favorite. The total, meanwhile, opened at 49.5 but has been bet up a full point to 50.5.
The Rebels have covered the spread in five of their last six games coming off a win and are 4-1 at the betting window in their last five games following a successful cover in their previous contest. That said, they're just 1-4 against the number in their last five games overall and have failed to cover in nine of their last 12 road games.
The Commodores are 20-6 at the betting window in their last 26 games coming off a failed cover in their previous game and are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games following a loss. They've also covered in 13 of their last 19 games playing in the month of November and are 11-4 against the spread in their last 15 games versus Ole Miss overall.
OUR PREDICTION: Quarterback Shea Patterson lit a fire under the Rebels last week when he went 25-of-42 for 338 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Ole Miss' 29-28 win over Texas A&M. The Rebels rallied from a 21-6 fourth-quarter deficit to shock the Aggies and now they have plenty of confidence heading into tonight's game. That said, Vanderbilt has held opponents to just 22 points per game and this line feels inflated because of Ole Miss' win over A&M last week. This feels like a good spot to take the home dog catching double-digit points.
