USF edged by Temple
The South Florida football team is coming off a 17-7 loss at home to Temple last week. The Bulls haven’t been able to get on a win streak this year and are now 4-5 on the season, 2-3 in the AAC, 5-4 against the spread and 4-4-1 with the over/under total.
USF hasn’t had much success on offense this season, averaging only 24 points and 346.1 yards per game. The Bulls’ defense is allowing just 27.1 points and 377.7 yards per contest. Jordan McCloud is leading the offense with 1,001 passing yards and 11 touchdowns while rushing for 237 yards and four scores. Jordan Cronkrite is the leading rusher with 608 yards and four touchdowns. Mitchell Wilcox is the leading receiver with 20 catches for 309 yards and four scores.
Cincinnati continues to win
Cincinnati is riding a seven-game win streak following a 48-3 victory over Connecticut last weekend at home. Cincinnati is now 8-1 on the season, 5-0 in the AAC, 6-3 against the spread and 6-3 with the under.
The Bearcats have been a pretty solid defense this year. They are giving up just 21 points and 363.2 yards per game. Offensively, Cincinnati is putting up 32.7 points and 406.2 yards per contest. Desmond Ridder is leading the offense with 1,696 passing yards and 17 touchdowns while rushing for 417 yards and a score. Michael Warren II is the leading rusher with 699 yards and nine scores. Josiah Deguara is the leading receiver with 28 catches for 414 yards and seven touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
South Florida
The Bulls have covered the spread in four straight following a loss and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games on grass.
Cincinnati
The Bearcats are just 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 games on grass and 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games.
Prediction:
The Bulls have been a problem for Cincinnati, covering the spread in four straight meetings with Cincinnati. The Bulls have been able to score against the Bearcats. However, I think Cincinnati’s defense will hold up better this time around. The Bulls have been held in check by the likes of Temple and Navy in recent weeks, so I could see more of the same by the Bearcats. The USF defense isn’t very solid, so look for Cincinnati to continue their recent offensive explosion to cover the spread.
