UCLA heating up
After struggling in the early stages of the season, UCLA finally seems to have found its stride, winning three straight coming into this game. The Bruins’ last game was a 31-14 win at home over Colorado. UCLA is now 4-5 on the season, 4-2 in the Pac-12, 4-4-1 against the spread and 5-4 with the under.
UCLA doesn’t have great numbers on the year, as the defense has allowed 32 points and 431.6 yards per game. Offensively, the Bruins are putting up 29.3 points and 406.4 yards per outing. Dorian Thompson-Robinson is leading the team with 1,837 passing yards and 17 touchdowns while also rushing for 194 yards and three scores. Joshua Kelley is the team’s leading rusher with 861 yards and 10 touchdowns, while Demetric Felton is the leading receiver with 39 catches for 471 yards and three scores.
Utah staying hot
The Utah Utes are riding a five-game winning streak right now following a 33-28 win at Washington two weeks ago. The Utes come into this game at 8-1 on the season, 5-1 in the Pac-12, 6-3 against the spread and 7-2 with the under.
Utah has one of the nation’s top defenses, allowing just 12.2 points and 246.6 yards per contest. Bradlee Anae is leading the defense with 19 tackles and eight sacks. Offensively, Utah is putting up 33.1 points and 446.4 yards per game. Tyler Huntley is leading the Utah offense with 2,062 passing yards and 11 touchdowns while also rushing for 235 yards and four scores. Zack Moss is the team’s leading rusher with 828 yards and 11 touchdowns, while Bryan Thompson is the leading receiver with 16 catches for 431 yards and three scores.
College Football Betting Trends
UCLA
The Bruins are 6-2 with the over in their last eight conference games and 5-2 with the over in their last seven games on fieldturf.
Utah
The Utes are 7-1 with the under in their last eight conference games and 6-2-1 with the under in their last nine games following a bye week.
Prediction:
These two have hit the under in six of their last eight meetings, as Utah’s defense has been the story in most of those games. UCLA has been able to move the ball as of late against some decent defensive teams. The Bruins appear to finally be hitting their next gear under Chip Kelly. While I don’t expect UCLA to put up 30 on Utah, they should score enough to help hit the over. The UCLA defense is still a mess, so look for the Utes to handle most of the scoring with their pro-style offense.
College Football Week 12 Prediction: UCLA/Utah Over 51.5
