Jack Sorenson has caught 43 passes for 629 yards and two scores while Alonzo Smith has rushed for 499 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, Miami is allowing 27.8 points and 366.7 yards per game. Their run defense is allowing nearly 160 yards per game.
Northern Illinois stays unbeaten in MAC
The Northern Illinois football team won its sixth straight game last week with a 38-15 win at home over Toledo. The Huskies are now 7-3 overall and 6-0 in the MAC. They are 6-4 against the spread and 8-2 with the under. NIU has covered the spread in three straight and five of its last six.
Northern Illinois has relied on its defense quiet heavily, allowing 21 points and 354.8 yards per game. The reason for that is its offense is averaging just 21.1 points and 318.5 yards per contest. Tre Harbison is leading the offense with 804 rushing yards and four touchdowns while Marcus Childers has thrown for 1,383 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for 328 yards and five scores. College Football Betting Trends
Miami-Ohio
Miami is 6-1 against the spread in their last seven conference games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games on fieldturf.
Northern Illinois
NIU is 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 Wednesday games and 16-7-1 ATS in their last 24 games in November.
Prediction:
NIU has obviously done well in MAC play, but the Huskies have been known to have to grind out some of the wins. They only beat Ohio by three at home and went to OT against Eastern Michigan. Even in Miami’s two losses in the MAC, they lost by just one to Western Michigan and by 9 at Miami. The RedHawks are able to keep things interesting and they have covered the spread in five of their last six meetings with Northern Illinois. Miami has an offense that can pose some problems for NIU and the Huskies aren’t an offensive team that is going to pull away from most opponents.
College Football Prediction: Miami-Ohio +6.5
