Michigan vs. Maryland Total Pick

College Football Total Predictions: Michigan vs. Maryland 11/9/17

Can No. 21 Michigan continue its recent offensive surge when it goes on the road to face Maryland on Saturday at 3:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Michigan is heavily favored in this game, as the Wolverines are getting odds of -16.5 points against Maryland. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 45.5 points. Michigan has won five of the last six meetings with Maryland and the two have hit the under in two of their last three encounters. The public is currently putting 75 percent of the wagers on Michigan on the road. Saturday’s game takes place from Maryland Stadium in College Park, Maryland. Saturday’s contest airs live on BTN.

Maryland is coming off a 31-24 loss at Rutgers last week to fall to 4-5 on the season and 2-4 in the Big Ten. The Terrapins have hit the over in six straight games and are 8-1 with the over in 2017. Maryland is putting up 29.9 points and 337 yards per game this season. The team is dealing with big injuries at QB but Max Bortenschlager has thrown for 1,007 yards and 10 touchdowns to lead the offense. Ty Johnson is the leading rusher with 703 yards and five scores. D.J. Moore has 59 receptions for 820 yards and eight touchdowns. Defensively, Maryland is allowing 36.3 points and 433.7 yards per contest.

Michigan is coming off a 33-10 win over Minnesota last week to improve to 7-2 overall and 4-2 in the Big Ten. The Wolverines have hit the over in four straight games and are now 5-3-1 with the over in 2017. The Michigan defense is allowing just 17.1 points and 245.3 yards per game this season while the offense is averaging 27.1 points and 380.6 yards per contest. The team has hit a bit of a stride in recent weeks as their run game has really picked up. Karan Higdon has 603 yards and eight touchdowns over his last four games and now has 804 yards on the year with 10 scores. Ty Isaac is adding 548 yards and two scores on the ground. Brandon Peters has taken over at QB recently. He has 184 passing yards with two touchdowns.

Bet on Michigan vs. Maryland

Michigan has gotten its run game on track in recent weeks and that shouldn’t stop against this Maryland defense. The Terps have struggled to stop any offense. Maryland has an offense capable of moving the ball as well. While the U-M defense has been pretty stingy against lesser opponents, I think Maryland will be able to break some big plays. Michigan has hit the over in six straight conference games while Michigan has hit the over in 10 of its last 12 road games.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREDICTION: MICHIGAN/MARYLAND OVER 45.5.
