The Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Cardinal is 16.5-point favorites versus the Buffs after opening as a 16-point favorite. As for the total, it opened at 60.5 and has dropped to 56.
The Records
Stanford enters play with a 7-1 record, having lost to only Northwestern in its season opener back in September. The Cardinal is also 6-2 against the spread this season after failing to cover as a double digit road favorite last weekend versus Washington State. On the other side, Colorado is 4-5 straight up and 3-5-1 at the betting window.
The Pick
Colorado is an improved team thanks to wide receiver Nelson Spruce, who has become the Pac 12’s career receptions leader, and quarterback Sefo Liufau, who helped the Buffs generate 554 yards of total offense last week versus UCLA. One of the primary reasons Colorado lost to UCLA despite out-gaining the Bruins was turnovers. Liufau was intercepted twice in UCLA territory, which included the game-ending pick at the 46-yard line with just under a minute remaining in the game. This will be back-to-back road games for Stanford, which has Oregon coming up next week. Take the points.
