Baylor vs. Oklahoma State Spread Pick
The Oklahoma State Cowboys pulled off a small upset last Saturday night as a home dog versus Texas. Today they’re laying points on the road to a Baylor Bears team that was destroyed in their last game by WVU. Is this a potential trap game for the Pokes?

Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Cowboys are 6-point favorites to beat the Bears. The total, meanwhile, sits at 65 points. As of this writing, 65% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Cowboys.
Baylor Bears
Baylor redshirt junior QB Jalan McClendon completed 16-of-21 passes for 183 yards while rushing for 22 yards and a touchdown in Thursday’s 58-14 loss to West Virginia. McClendon entered in the second quarter, after starter Charlie Brewer was forced out injured. He was unable to sway the needles of fate, with WVU dismantling the Bears by a 41-0 score in the first half. The 6-foot-5, 219-pound redshirt junior has had a few nice cameo appearances this season (though this one came in a lost cause) and would have a chance for a little starting action should Brewer be sidelined past the short term. Baylor will play Oklahoma State in Week 10.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Oklahoma State redshirt senior QB Taylor Cornelius completed 23-of-34 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday’s 38-35 win over Texas. Cornelius (6’6/232) added 23 yards and two scores on the ground, including a big fourth quarter rushing touchdown and game winning first down carry. The redshirt senior was nearly perfect overall, especially when he targeted stud sophomore receiver Tylan Wallace, who posted 10-222-2 against a quality Texas secondary. In fact, the five total touchdowns tied a career high for the quarterback. Cornelius and the Cowboys will ride the momentum of a huge win when they head to Baylor.
Betting Trends
Baylor
The Bears are just 1-6 against the number in their last seven home games.
Oklahoma State
The Cowboys are 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games played in the month of November.
Prediction
The favorite is 16-5 against the spread in the last 21 meetings int his series and the Cowboys have covered in nine of their last 12 games against the Bears. This is a true letdown spot for OK State, not to mention a lookahead game with Oklahoma on deck. But Baylor QB Charlie Brewer suffered a concussion in last week’s loss to West Virginia and while he’s cleared to play today, that doesn’t mean he’ll play well. Baylor’s defense was destroyed by the Mountaineer offense and the Cowboys can do just as much damage today. While I’m aware of the potential trap here with OK State, the Cowboys are the better team and perhaps their win over the ‘Horns last week will provided motivation to turn their season around in the final month (as opposed to the catalyst to struggling today).
