Stanford vs. Washington State Pick

College Football Total Predictions: Stanford vs. Washington State 11/2/17

Will No. 18 Stanford and No. 25 Washington State find themselves in a Pac-12 shootout when the two meet up Saturday at 3:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Washington State is favored at home, as the Cougars are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Cardinal. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 55 points. Stanford has won eight of the last nine meetings with Washington State and the two have hit the under in four of their last six meetings as well. The public is currently putting 67 percent of the wagers on Washington State at home. Saturday’s game takes place from Martin Stadium in Pullman, Washington and the contest will air live on FOX.

Stanford is riding a five-game win streak right now following a 15-14 victory at Oregon State last week. The Cardinal are now 6-2 on the season and 5-1 in the Pac-12. They also are 5-3 with the under, hitting it in four straight games. Stanford is averaging 35.3 points and 427.4 yards per game on offense this season. Bryce Love has been the focal point of the offense with 1,387 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. However, he missed last week’s game with an ankle injury and is questionable to play on Saturday as well. Keller Chryst has just 962 passing yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions.

Washington State is coming off a 58-37 loss at Arizona last week to fall to 7-2 on the season. The Cougars are 4-2 in the Pac-12 and 6-3 with the under. Washington State has had a much better defense than usual this season. The Cougars are allowing just 22.9 points and 308.6 yards per contest this year. Their pass defense is giving up just 167.3 yards per game. Offensively, Washington State is putting up 34 points and 471.6 yards per contest. Most of the offense comes through the air, as Luke Falk has thrown for 2,576 yards and 23 touchdowns this year. Tavares Martin Jr. is the leading receiver with 48 catches for 638 yards and seven touchdowns while Jamal Morrow has 413 rushing yards and three scores.

Bet on Stanford vs. Washington State

The total is set low for a typical Washington State game, but I actually like the under in this one. These two are 6-1-1 with the under in their last 8 meetings in Washington State. The Cougars have a defense that can really step up, especially if Love isn’t at full strength. Stanford’s defense has also shown its ability to rise to the challenge when needed. If the Cardinal can’t put up points, their defense will keep this game competitive.
