The Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Bulldogs are 2-point underdogs versus the Gators after Florida opened as a 3.5-point favorite. As for the total, it opened at 48 but was bet down to 46.
The Records
Florida is 6-1 on the year and 5-2 against the spread, having failed to cover as a 6.5-point road underdog two weeks ago in Baton Rouge versus LSU. Georgia, meanwhile, is 5-2 straight up but just 2-5 at the betting window.
The Pick
No Georgia quarterback since Greg Talley in 1989 has managed to defeat Florida in his first start. That’s a troubling trend for Greyson Lambert, who has struggled under center for the Bulldogs of late. In fact, Mark Richt is even considering a change at quarterback, possibly going to Brice Ramsey or Faton Bauta to spark the offense. No matter who starts under center for the Bulldogs, they’ll be subjected to Florida’s outstanding defense. The under is 5-0 in Georgia’s last five games versus a team with a winning record and 5-2 in Florida’s last seven neutral site games. The combined score won’t reach the high 40s.
